What are Seizures

The term 'seizure' describes a sudden, short event where there is a change in a person's awareness of of where they are, what they are doing, their own behaviour, or even their own feelings.  The term seizure will usually refer to epileptic seizures alone, but there are many different types of seizures, including partial, non-epileptic, status epilepticus, & generalized seizures.  (The National Society for Epilepsy)
