EPILEPSY

How to recognize a Seizure

When most people think of a seizure, they think of someone falling down unconcious, shaking, and maybe even wetting themselves.  Some people may also throw up, drool, or lose control of their bowels.
This type of seizure usually lasts up to several minutes.  When the seizure is over the perso may feel sleepy and may not remember what happened.  Though a seizure may look scary, it is not painful.
Not everyone has seizures similar to what you may see on TV.  Some people have staring spells that look as if they are daydreaming or some jerking movements n a particular body area.
If you see someone having a seizure there is nothing you can do to stop the seizure, but there are some ways you can prevent the person from getting hurt. (Rutherford, Kim)
